CQ Science

CQ Science began as a pre-clinical stage organization exploring multiple compounds and molecules to address inflammation in skin. The genesis of the company came from many clinicians' desire to study cannabinoids for conditions including, but not limited to: atopic dermatitis, epidermis bullosa, hydradenitis suppurativa, and intractable itch. Anecdotal reports of topical creams helping these complicated conditions was encouraging. However, early pre-clinical data was mixed, not warranting raising additional funds to move into the clinical stage. Pivot: CQ Science then became the parent company of CQuell, a Dermatologist founded sensitive skin brand. Many of the products became consumer favorites, particularly the Moisture Locking Balm. However, there was speculation that the base and inactive ingredients were providing as much, if not more, of the efficacy. With cannabinoids not living up to their potential as an ingredient (delivered topically); the decision to cease operations was made in late 2022.
