Crawshays Rugby Football Club

Founded in 1922, Crawshay's Rugby Football Club is a unique institution in the rugby world through the spirit in which we play our rugby, and values we attach to the game. Over the past 100 years we have provided a playing platform for over 1,600 players, including over 450 internationals from both Rugby Union and Rugby League. The list includes some of the most iconic players to have played the game; Gareth Edwards, Phil Bennett and Shane Williams are amongst hundreds of other internationals, from 9 different countries, that have worn the Crawshay's shirt during this time. The club prides itself on supporting the development of rugby players. Playing a role in discovering a remarkable number of talented players since Captain Geoffrey Crawshay picked his first team in April 1922. With an annual youth fixture list that sees us play some of the finest colleges in the country, and both male and female senior’s side playing regularly throughout the UK. We also tour on an annual basis and in the past 100 years visited 23 countries and 4 continents since the first overseas tour in early 1970’s. Each time we take to the pitch we give young players an opportunity to enjoy the great game, show their undoubted talent, and express themselves fully whilst promoting the values that rugby football what it is. At the same time, we encourage these young men to experience a side of rugby that they perhaps would not normally encounter and take in the feel of new surroundings, furthering life experiences.
