Engineering analysis and simulation consultancy specialising in the response of structures, plant and equipment subjected to extreme and hazard loading. We employ basic and advanced analysis techniques from hand calculation to non-linear dynamic Finite Element analysis in our investigations.
Typical loading regimes include: wind, earthquake/seismic, vibration, impact, fire, explosion/blast, temperature. Solutions are linear and non-linear to suit the basic design criteria; we also undertake “beyond design code” work. One of our specialisms is non-linear soil-structure interaction analysis for seismic design of structures.
We have experience in the major safety related industries with our work being used to support safety case submissions and substantiation for national and industry regulators. These industries include civil nuclear, oil and gas, defence and general commerce worldwide. We have experience in working in countries such as the U.S.A., Australia, Singapore, Netherlands, Denmark, Finland.
Our services include peer review and independent technical assessment; we are also content to provide an overview service where we will support in-house teams at a management level.
Our major analysis software includes: ANSYS, USFOS, WinSSI (a management executive for the CLASSI/SMACS suite [GLAY, CLAN, INSSIN, SMAX] www.soilstructure.co.uk), nuSHAKE, nuFLUSH and DynaTool. In addition we have extensive in-house programming capabilities to allow bespoke programs to support our work.
