Centro Ricerche e Attività Industriali srl (CReAI) is a mechanical engineering and research company, based in Pistoia (Italy), active in various sectors including Railways, Energy, Naval, Oil & Gas and Industrial Machinery. The know-how of the company developed since 1986, with the Engineering Firm of Eng. Calamai, and has grown over time thanks to the collaborative nature and the aggregation of different entities. The skills developed by our staff, composed by engineers and specialized technicians, have resulted in longstanding collaborations with big companies on the Italian and international scene. CReAI provides the following services: - Complete mechanical design: conception, calculation, industrialization, executive drawings and prototyping. - Structural analyses (FEM): static and dynamic analyses, fatigue, modal analyses, vibrations, shape optimizations and verification of welded assemblies. - Thermo-fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations: rotating machines, air distribution systems, HVAC, cavitation, heat exchange, combustion and fire scenarios. - Creation of ad-hoc tools for simulation and management of specific problems (eg: dynamics models, thermo-fluid dynamics, predictive diagnostics, management of fire/smoke certificates, management of specific design or production tasks). - R&D both on specific industrial needs and in the context of regional, national and European collaborative projects on the topics of sustainable mobility, intelligent diagnostics, innovative HVAC systems and renewable energy. - Quality controls in the production process of railway vehicles. - Reverse Engineering: field survey of existing systems, creation of 3D / 2D CAD models and retrofitting. - Drafting of technical manuals. CReAI adopts an ISO 9001 certified quality management system and is certified for the design of welded structures in the field of railway vehicles according to UNI EN 15085-2 standard.
