Creative Hub - for the Cipro-Group

WHAT IS THE CREATIVE HUB? The Creative Hub was recently launched by the Cipro-Group, a design company based in Luanda (Angola) and Porto (Portugal), specializing in interior design. It aims to: promote local design, local manufacturing, and attract designers, crafters and makers from the African continent and its diaspora, with an emphasis on Angola. It will primarily consist of the following projects: - A Designer-Maker Residency Programme; - A Series of workshops with established designers; - Design Events; and - Specific projects for Cipro-Group companies. WHERE IS IT BASED? The Creative Hub is based at Cipro-Group’s Design Campus in Viana, 30km east of the city-centre of Luanda. WHY IS IT NEEDED? - To compliment, develop and assist the Cipro-Group with its project needs; - To act as a design development and research unit for the Cipro-Group; - To Identify and support new Angolan designers - as well as provide a platform for collaboration with other African designers; - To design and develop new lines of unique products for the African market; and - To invest in and grow new industries in Luanda, focusing on – but not limited to - plastic recycling, carpentry, pattern-design, textiles and ceramics.
