The purpose of the Creators Project is to shine a light on creative & talented individuals across the art, music, photography, and content creation industries.
People tend to want to be with you at the finish line, but they don’t want to run the race. They don’t understand years of hard work behind the scenes, nor do they understand what it takes to achieve millions of streams, or millions of viewers, or millions of dollars. Along the way, the highs are high, and the lows, are, well . . . low. We’re in an age where the idea of viral, overnight sensations takes away from an acknowledgement of artists, creators, and entrepreneurs who did it the old-fashioned way, through hustle, grind, and dedication. And that’s what we’re dedicated to, too. There’s beauty in the journey. Sometimes you learn the most important lessons on that road.
The calm before the storm has always interested me. I’m fascinated by what we do in the shadows, behind the scenes, before the big break, before everyone knows our names and faces are on billboards. What does that grind and hustle actually look like? What does it feel like? What do those small wins feel like before they pile up to bigger success? This is meant to be amber in glass, a profile of real subjects who are cutting their teeth, doing whatever it is they do to pursue their visions, in real communities.
This project is a multimedia interview series. Our goal is to publish real, impactful pieces on inspiring individuals, who are building the lives that they want, pursuing causes they believe in. I could wax poetic on the common thread between these disparate individuals, but what really joins them together, for now, is that they inspire me, and they’re doing their best to inspire other people as well through the work they do, and the unique ambitions they’re pursuing.
