CREST is the Centre for Research into Environmental and Sustainable Transitions, based at the University of Chester. We research environmental and social solutions for a sustainable future as we journey towards Net Zero. Our aims as a research centre are: 1. To align social and environmental goals ensuring that journeys to Net Zero are equitable in conversation with communities 2. To evaluate policy discourses and stakeholder engagements across the net zero journey. 3. To deliver academic research skills that are required by government, businesses, and society to react to Climate Change 4. To champion rural innovation and solutions in the face of Climate Change in the River Severn Basin and beyond CREST is rooted in Shropshire and Chester but extends its impact across the River Severn basin and beyond, including Scotland and Wales. We support communities, businesses, and government bodies in delivering impactful projects. Our approach is place-based, people-centred, and action-oriented, ensuring our research drives meaningful change.
