We are a Scottish Government-funded partnership between the James Hutton Institute and Scottish Universities, providing expertise and advice from across Scotland, enhancing coordination and synergy of science and stimulating innovative thinking in support of water policy. CREW plays an active role in maintaining and improving the quality of all fresh and marine waters in Scotland by providing the best available scientific advice to inform Scottish Government water management policy. Our job is to engage and connect major players in Scotland’s water management and expertise, brokering knowledge between our CREW research community and the policy community/policy-makers. We are one of four Scottish Centres of Expertise established by the Scottish Government, the Centres provide the best available scientific advice to inform Government policy in an efficient, accessible and streamlined way.
