CRIANN

Criann (Centre Régional Informatique et d'Applications Numériques de Normandie) is the regional supercomputing center and is also in charge of the regional network for research and education, providing ubiquitous access to public digital infrastructures in Normandy. Criann operates massively parallel supercomputers and focuses on providing technical and scientific support to researchers for porting and optimizing codes on pre-exascale computers. As one of the centers of excellence in high-end computing in France, Criann is working closely with Genci, in charge of the national supercomputing ecosystem. Criann is also the project manager for Syvik, the high-speed network for research in Normandy, connected to national and European backbones, Renater and Géant. Criann provides regional universities with state-of-the art networking services and technical support. At the national level, Criann participates in MesoNET, the coordination of regional HPC centres led by Genci, and is in charge of the industry section of the French EuroCC Competence Centre, the entry point to HPC, HPDA, AI, Quantum, led by Teratec. In this context, Criann actively contributes to raising awareness of the benefits of HPC and related technologies, and to offering personalised technical and scientific support to companies, SMEs and start-ups.
