About CRICKET-CIC

CRICKET’s aim is to facilitate research collaboration between Caribbean and UK researchers, as a contribution towards progress on the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. CRICKET is committed to equal partnerships for knowledge co-production, to complement the efforts of the many established researchers and organizations working in related activities in the UK and the Caribbean. By building and strengthening networks, we can help to seize research funding opportunities as they arise, to support projects identified as priorities by our Caribbean partners. CRICKET was registered as a Community Interest Company (CIC, a non-profit company) in August 2020. Its Directors, Dr L. Collins and Dr E. Morris, are grateful to our associates, partners and funders in the UK and the Caribbean who make this work possible. Activities 1. Information gathering. We are continually building our database of researchers and potential funders (including research councils, international organizations, charities and individuals). 2. Seeding projects. We match potential funders with Cuban and international partners for projects. 3. Bid support. Once a potential project and suitable partners have been identified, we can provide support to prepare bids. 4. Project management. Where appropriate, we manage projects as grant-holders. 5. Dissemination. We help to disseminate research results through articles, working papers, policy briefs, talks, seminars, conferences and social media. 6. Network building. We host network events and to help to foster the next generation of research collaborators.
