Last spring some UK vineyards and orchards suffered badly from frost, with over half of the crop destroyed. Many UK vineyard managers choose to light candles to prevent to raise the temperature of the environment around the fruit trees and vines. Crop Candle's 12-Hour candles will protect your fruit for up to three frosts. However, it is advisable to have additional candles ready in storage should another late frost arrive. The shelf life is a good five years, so if you don’t use them; they will be good for the following year. An insurance worth having. We offer an estimated burn time of 8-hour 5ltr container (approx. 4.6kg) and the new 12-hour 6ltr container (approx. 5.5kg) candles (Bougie). The weight difference is due to the higher compound used in the formula between the 8 hour and 12-hour burn. These candles are made from 100% Vegetable Wax ( NOT PARAFFIN) which acts as a heater raising the air temperature over your crops thus protecting against frost.
