About Cross-border Talent Bridge
The goal of the Interreg Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak project, "Cross-border Talent Bridge," is to promote skills supply in the Greater Copenhagen region within Life Science and Tech (med-, food-, and bio-tech). Addressing the skills shortage on both sides of the strait, the project unites key players to boost global attractiveness for specialized talent. Partners include: City of Lund (lead), Copenhagen Capacity (co-lead), Ideon Science Park, Medicon Village, OpenTech, City of Copenhagen, and Medicon Valley Alliance. Several universities and other actors support the project. The primary target group is companies in the mentioned industries, while the secondary is international talents, especially master's, PhDs, postdocs, and their families. The partnership knows the current and future labor needs in the region. They have developed methods focusing on talent attraction and retention. Through cross-border collaboration, they share experiences, solutions, and knowledge. Previous cooperation has yielded excellent results, and this project deepens that collaboration. To overcome barriers to attracting and retaining talent, the project focuses on four areas: - Talent retention - Talent attraction - Policy impact - Cross-border collaboration and strategy Expected results: a) A cross-border cooperation model with shared methods. b) Mapping of factors and barriers for talent mobility. c) A long-term cross-border talent strategy. Expected long-term effects: a) More international talent in key areas. b) More talent staying after studies/employment. c) Shift in companies' recruitment attitudes, especially SMEs. d) Simplified processes for talent retention. e) Greater awareness of the region as a career destination. f) International talent viewing the region as a unified labor market.
