Crossing Borders Deakin

Crossing Borders for Health is a medical student run organisation with a focus on refugee and asylum seeker issues, especially healthcare and wellbeing. Crossing Borders for Health is a subcommittee of MeDUSA at Deakin University. It is a medical student run organisation with a focus on refugee and asylum seeker issues, especially with regard to the areas of human rights, social justice, health and well-being. We aim to raise awareness, advocate for, and promote community inclusion of refugees and asylum seekers through activities and events run both on and off campus. Crossing Borders involves an international network of students who collaborate together to achieve these aims. In Victoria, there are now committees at both Monash University Medical School, The University of Melbourne and Deakin University Medical School. Any Deakin student can also be involved in events being conducted on-campus and in and around Geelong by Deakin Crossing Borders. General members of the public are also invited to be a member of our facebook page and to assist and participate in events.
