Cru Vinsobres

For those who want to get off the beaten track of the Rhône Valley, Vinsobres is a village named for wine. An unusual name, a remarkable Cru: Vinsobres. Situated in the Drôme Provençale, on the edge of the Pré-Alpes on one side, facing the Mont Ventoux on the other, the 1375 hectares of vineyard cover 7km of hillsides entirely within the commune of Vinsobres. Perched at an altitude from 200 to 450 meters, on terraces, Vinsobres is one of the appellations with the highest altitude in the Côtes du Rhône region. Wines from Vinsobres, all red, are characterized by their freshness and delicate tannins. Made mainly from Grenache and Syrah, the wines have an excellent balance between tannins, acidity, spice and red fruit aromas. The palate is balanced, the tannins are smoothed with a lush roundness contributing to a feeling of volume and generosity.
