With deep expertise across research, development, and commercialization, we are dedicated to advancing innovative RNA-based therapies to transform patient outcomes. Our breakthrough treatment programmes aim to halt degenerative conditions such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and Frontotemporal Dementia. Crucible is developing novel therapies that prevent rogue nuclear RNAs from escaping into the cytoplasm where they drive toxic gain-of-functions and cell damage. Our approach disrupts the production of toxic dipeptide repeats (DPRs) and TDP-43 aggregates, which are relevant to both C9ORF72- and Sporadic-ALS populations and potentially other neurodegenerative diseases. Crucible Therapeutics was founded in 2023 to advance ground breaking innovations in neuroscience, originating from the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN) and the Division of Neuroscience at the University of Sheffield, UK.
