Colour Synthesis Solutions (CSS) is a leading provider of fine chemicals and chemistry research and development services. Specialising in colour, CSS is the first choice for any coloured chemical or dye intermediate, whatever the application.
CSS was founded in 2006 out of the University of Manchester in the UK and quickly outgrew it's initial research base, moving to it's current home at the Hexagon Tower in Manchester. Since this initial move CSS has grown over the following 10 years from a 3-man operation to around 15. We dedicate ourselves to the discovery and development of new and exciting chemistry, both in colour and non-coloured applications.
The company offers a complete service, encompassing literature searching and consultancy to contract research, custom synthesis, process development and optimisation through to pilot plant manufacture. We can discover, develop and produce your products alongside your team to your specifications.
All our staff have been specifically selected for their key skills and extensive experience, meaning we can offer a wide range of services and chemistry knowledge. As well as our speciality in colour, all of our chemists are skilled in general synthetic organic chemistry and can turn their practical skills to most chemistry challenges.
As specialist in colour chemistry we do have extensive knowledge in chromophores and their behaviour. We have a large breadth of experience in azo bond formation, anthraquinone chemistry, organometallic cross-coupling reactions, organicphotovoltaics (OPV) and dye-sensitised solar cell applications. We can support your chemistry requirements whatever the industry.
