Chamber of Social Entrepreneur Development (CSED) Malaysia

The Chamber of Social Entrepreneur Development (CSED) Malaysia is a non-profit organisation that was set-up to improve the Social Entrepreneurship ecosystem in Malaysia. The Chamber of Social Entrepreneur Development Malaysia (CSED Malaysia) comprises of members from practitioners, business owners, founders/co-founders as well as private and public sector individuals that aspire to grow the social entrepreneurship practices in Malaysia. The chamber plays and advocacy role in terms of building and growing the social entrepreneurship practices by forging interventions, collaboration, and catalysing developmental efforts in the private, public sector and fostering social entrepreneurship practices. Formed in 2018 which is aligned with the aspiration of Malaysia Baru consisting of founding members from various background, the industry as well as impact areas that are relevant to social entrepreneurship practices. In alignment with Malaysia’s aspiration to push the social entrepreneurship agenda and in line with the current government manifesto for social entrepreneurship, CSED Malaysia advocated for systemic government support via the establishment of a social entrepreneurship department under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development Malaysia. Our vision is to be the voice of Malaysia’s social entrepreneurs & relevant stakeholders that champions social entrepreneurship development in an aspiration to build a thriving inclusive economy for the nation. Our Mission: 1. Provide awareness of social entrepreneurship to general public and create network among practitioners and relevant stakeholders 2. An avenue for social entrepreneurs to explore business and capacity building opportunities 3. Build a community of social entrepreneurship advocators that will champion the social enterprise sector development and growth.
