Founded in 1944, the CST is an association of cinema, audiovisual and multimedia professionals. Today, its 700 members include technicians and technical artists.
In the film and audiovisual industries, from production to broadcasting, it defends the quality of images and sound, as well as creativity and technological and artistic innovation.
On behalf of the CNC (Centre National du Cinéma et de l'image animée) and cinema and audiovisual professionals, from production to distribution, its main missions are to provide technological watch, control, testing, expertise, technical assistance and training. Within AFNOR, EDCF, ISO and SMPTE, it participates in the implementation of standards and recommendations. It is also technical director of numerous film festivals (Cannes, Biarritz, Richmond, etc.).
