Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) student chapter at Colorado State University. Fostering a strong biomedical engineering community via three main areas of focus.
Outreach Program: Engaging with our local community in increase awareness around biomedical engineering to middle and high schoolers. Each year, we host several events consisting of short presentations and take-home projects for students to enjoy.
CASE Project: Designing and developing a customized foot-controlled steering system and adaptable controls for a student at CSU without arms. Year two into this project, we have begun to implement our designs into a donated Subaru Baja.
Industry Events: Connecting students with the biotech industry through industry spotlights, lunches, tours, and most recently, the BioInnovate Career Expo, which is a biotech-specific career fair.
