Community Tax Aid NYC

Community Tax Aid, Inc. (CTA) is an all-volunteer, non-profit, tax-exempt organization (501(c)(3)) that has been preparing tax returns FREE for low-income individuals and families since 1969. CTA is the oldest FREE tax preparation service in the country. Since its formation, the organization has prepared well over 100 thousand tax returns. CTA is dedicated to providing all services (federal, state, and local income tax forms) with the special needs and benefits of each taxpayer in mind. As many tax preparers are not geared to low-income taxpayers, CTA provides special, comprehensive, no-cost training to its volunteers. This training is directed toward the specific needs of its clients. CTA never charges for its services. Last tax season, we prepared tax returns for almost 1500 taxpayers.
