CTBHeritage Consulting is run by Catt Thompson-Baum ACR, an Institute of Conservation (ICON) accredited conservator. She has many years experience both in institutions such as the British Library, the Wellcome Library, Trinity College Dublin and The National Archives of England and Wales, as well as in private practise working with leading archive collections and academic and genealogical publishers. Catt is one of the UK's leading experts in digitisation, ranging from small projects to mass digitisation of tens of thousands of documents. Her specialisms, including collection surveys, assessment and treatment, workflows, team and project management, preservation advice, can be applied to any heritage project. Between October 2017 and December 2023 she was the Collection Care Consultant and Project Manager for Wiley Digital Archives. She has worked on projects with Conservation by Design, the Commonwealth War Graves Committee and was Senior Collection Care Consultant for Find My Past for the digitisation of the 1921 Census. Since April 2024 she has worked part-time with the National Conservation Service as maternity cover for their Lead Preventive Conservator, with responsibility for members' environmental and pest monitoring programmes, exhibition install and de-installations and supporting many other aspects of their work such as surveys and due diligence checks.
