CTHM

CTHM was co-founded by Christopher Taylor, Timothy Hare and Harry Molyneux in 2012 after meeting at Kingston University. There they forged strong relationships and an impressive work ethic, built on resolving complex and challenging student projects together. The three partners combine a diverse range of experiences having worked at a variety of award winning practices, including Maccreanor Lavington and Allies and Morrison. They have specialist knowledge and experience of working on private housing projects, small to large-scale housing developments, and masterplanning. CTHM also use temporary structures, competitions and public art installations as a means for exploring and testing new ideas at smaller scales. This focus has taken on a diverse range of work in a short time, producing a reputation for success off the back of a series of recent competition wins, notably The RIBA’s Shanghai Windows, BD magazine’s Small Hotel Room and the completion of the largest ever natural art installation at a UK festival. We concentrate on responding to clients needs by focusing on a strong and professional dialogue, striving for the highest quality output, listening carefully and communicating succinctly. Our design approach is both academic and hands on. Appreciating people’s needs, desires and experience of place, whilst striving for clear, simple and well-judged compositions of materials and form is key to achieving our clients goals. We test all our projects against these criteria through a combination of models, sketches, montages, drawings and visualisations. To deliver an exceptional service our primary goal is to approach every project with the same open mindedness, optimism and enthusiasm we approached our student work. Our studio is a place of continual investigation into how we work and how we can develop our original ideas into a built reality. This is fundamentally driven by our genuine passion for good design and creating a better built-environment.
