CONNECTICUT STORMWATER AUTHORITY LLC was created in response to the ever-growing efforts of the U.S. government's EPA to protect and improve our water sources. As "urban sprawl" continues to cover the earth with impervious surfaces such as pavement and roofs, precipitation is prevented from being absorbed into the ground. Furthermore, uncontrolled rapidly running water can create flooding, erosion, infrastructure damage, habitat destruction, combined storm and sanitary sewer system overflows and the list goes on. Stormwater systems do a number of things: (1) Capture the "first flush" which contains the highest amount of contaminants moving off the surface of your property, keeping you complaint with your local municipality's MS4 mandate (2) Collect surface water and hold it and allow it to slowly reabsorb into the earth, instead of flooding your basement, ripping up your lawn or driveway or even worse, damaging your neighbor's or town's property, exposing you to legal action (3) Work in conjunction with rain gutter systems to collect water and send it underground, away from your foundation reducing interior flooding and surface water pooling.
