Vision: Empower every child / individual on this planet through access to (free) education by using technology and thereby positively impact the world of us all Mission: Building the future hybrid (on&offline) learning environment for kids in need Project phase 1 - Discovery and data collection: A) Online: - Intensiv research about the use of technology in the educational sector (worldwide) in terms of: - Access: - Internet availability, speed, devices, cost, etc. - Device availability (PC, laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) - Content: - Educational content providers, with the main focus on free and open-source software, applications, etc. - Teaching capability: - Capability of educational institutions and educators to use technology in their daily teaching - Increasing knowledge and expertise about the described above as well as the latest trends in Education, Technology, and EdTech by taking online courses (e.g. UN, Harvard, Meta, etc.) B) Offline: - Field research in lower-middle-income and low-income countries (e.g., Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique) by visiting government and private schools to understand the current use of technology: - Access, content, and teaching capability - Opportunities, challenges, and obstacles, etc. - Interviewing project leaders and volunteers of IT and Education organizational / NGOs - Using the opportunity of being in the school to show learners and teachers the potential of technology as well as free and open-source education software/applications Project phase 2 - Combine and analyze collected data and draw conclusion - school concept: 2A) Define the schools business model and determine a location for a pilot school 2B) Fundraising: Raise funds to create and build a first pilot school Project phase 3 - Create online and build offline pilot school - tbd Project phase 4 - Test school concept and adjust progressively - tbd Project phase 5 - Scale organically or inorganically - tbd
