CU Boulder Student Hydropower Energy Team

The Hydropower Energy Team at the University of Colorado Boulder is a student-run organization dedicated to providing hands-on experience and career opportunities in the hydropower industry. We compete in the annual Hydropower Collegiate Competition, hosted by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), where we apply engineering, policy, and business skills to real-world challenges. This year, our team is developing a proposal for a theoretical closed-loop pumped storage hydropower facility, including siting analysis, cybersecurity integration, testing setup, and outreach strategy. Through innovation and collaboration, we aim to advance sustainable energy solutions and foster the next generation of hydropower professionals.
