CUHK Faculty of Arts

The Faculty of Arts at CUHK is a vibrant hub for humanities education and research in Asia. With a commitment to interdisciplinary approaches and global connections, we offer undergraduate and postgraduate training across a wide range of academic disciplines, from Anthropology to Translation. Our Faculty plays a key role in the University’s mission to integrate Chinese and Western traditions, advance bilingual education, and promote humanities research. We believe that studying languages, cultures, religions, creative arts, history, and philosophy fosters a humanistic spirit and enhances our engagement with a diverse global community. We are proud to be the intellectual home of many world-renowned scholars, particularly in the study of Chinese thought and culture. Our distinguished faculty offers 16 undergraduate major programmes and over 40 postgraduate programmes, continually supporting and training new generations of scholars. In 2025, our Faculty was ranked 44th in the QS World University Rankings for Arts and Humanities.
