Cultivating Community

We are a social enterprise that runs three trading arms all supporting our social purpose. A community plant nursery called the Walled Garden Nursery in Mells, Victoria Park Community Cafe in Frome and Seedery and online seed brand. As social enterprise we focus on a business model that combines the commercial goals of a for-profit company with the social or environmental goals of a non-profit organisation. The main purpose of our social enterprise is to connect people with nature to reduce the health and well being affects of loneliness and isolation. We do this through therapeutic horticultural and gardening programmes, work skills training, and supporting social connection in nature. We are run by a Board of Directors and are funding through a combination of grants and trading income.
