The Consorzio Vero Cuoio italiano, ambassador of the brand Cuoio di Toscana, was founded in 1985 by some tanneries to promote the Made in Italy sole leather culture all around the world.
Not only it protects and enhances its product, but it also guarantees the qualitative and quantitative results that the Tuscan tanning industry, a prominent global leader in the field, is aiming for.
The Consortium aims to educate its listeners to recognize and appreciate the superior quality of the sole leather obtained by the artisan processing techniques and the slow vegetable tanning.
Cuoio di Toscana is obtained thanks to the slow vegetable tanning, the oldest tanning technique worldwide based on the unique use of natural tannins coming from chestnut, mimosa and quebracho. This allow to reach surprising results also by using modern techniques.
