About Current Problems, Inc.
Current Problems. Inc is a 501(c)(3) environmental nonprofit that focuses on leading freshwater debris removal projects based in Gainesville, Florida. We are a women-led, grassroots organization that specializes in coordinating watershed restoration efforts across Florida through education, advocacy and waterway cleanups. We facilitate cleanups in our rivers, creeks, lakes, ponds, springs, floodplains and even sinkholes with the goal of preventing trash and debris from reaching our downstream neighbors, affecting wildlife, and polluting our drinking water supply. Current Problems, Inc was founded in 1993 by a group of friends and artists who regularly paddled the Santa Fe River and decided to make conservation at the forefront of their recreation. 30 years later, we have helped over 22,000 volunteers connect with their local waterways with hands-on conservation resulting in the removal of over 1 MILLION POUNDS of trash and debris. Sign up today to become a sustaining water warrior for your local watershed!
