The current economic conditions in Greece have forced many young Greeks to reconsider their professional plans. As a result, many have already moved abroad to pursue career or educational opportunities, while others are still in the country hoping to make the move overseas. The prospect of trying to succeed in a foreign environment can be very overwhelming. A major obstacle, in fact, exists at the very beginning of any such consideration: presenting one's candidacy effectively. CVfromGreece is a platform through which Greek youth can receive CV and cover letter advice in exchange for contributing to a Greek charity (either with a monetary donation or with a day of volunteering). We match professionals in various industries and with diverse linguistic backgrounds to candidates with similar profiles. The professionals, called "Mentors", volunteer to provide feedback on the candidate materials. Our platform also allows prospective employers to search for candidate profiles and to view the finalized CVs and cover letters. Our hope is to help candidates succeed, both by improving the presentation of their materials and by offering a possible venue for hiring. In the process, we also hope to make a meaningful impact on Greek society through our charitable contribution requirement. CVfromGreece aims to help preserve the nation's social fiber while ensuring its talent stays competitive in a globalized world. CVfromGreece is run primarily out of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Belgium. Our team includes both young and seasoned professionals and acts in conjunction with an advisory board.
