The Commonwealth of World Chinatowns (CWC) is an international initiative inspired by the rich legacies of Chinatowns in Penang and Singapore. Founded in Penang, CWC explores the multicultural dynamics and postcolonial transitions that shaped these cities and their connections to China, Asia, and the world. Our mission is to foster intercultural learning, global knowledge exchange, and collaborative innovation through a visionary network of Chinatowns and diaspora communities. CWC brings together cultural leaders, scholars, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to celebrate heritage, promote dialogue, and advance shared futures.
