At Zewail City, the Center for X-ray Determination of the Structure of Matter (CXDS) and the Molecular Biology and Virology Lab (MBVL) are directed by Prof. Tamer Salem. The MBVL and CXDS goal is to integrate molecular biology with computational structure biology in the research of vaccine development, gene delivery, and gene editing of viruses for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
