CxT Discovery is a non-profit focused research organization (FRO) founded in 2023 to explore a new approach to drug discovery. Our mission is to develop chemical compounds targeting nodes of cellular regulation that have been neglected by industry but have high potential to modulate human disease. Because industry waits for a target to be implicated in a significant clinical opportunity before pursuing a drug campaign against it (even though many drugs are ultimately repurposed to a different indication), most of the proteome remains undrugged. CxT is taking a science-first approach to launch drug-discovery campaigns against centrally important but neglected proteins and provide the chemical matter as a public good to assist the research community. By freely distributing high-quality tool compounds with near-drug candidate properties, we will empower research that could bypass the current drug-discovery process to yield novel therapeutics.
