Cy-Hope was birthed in 2011 by a core group of people concerned about the children in our community. CFISD is the third largest school district in Texas, and the largest non-urban school district in the country. CFISD is made up of a majority Latino (45%), Caucasian (24%) and African American (18%) students, with half of the over 117,000 students in CFISD qualifying as economically disadvantaged by federal standards. We have many families and students struggling with hunger, mental health, finishing school, and limited access to enriching experiences like organized sports, college prep or certification classes, private music lessons and summer camp. Cy-Hope strives to fill in these gaps through our programs, partnering with other community organizations to make sure we do not duplicate efforts, but instead collaborate to meet the needs of our community.
