The CyberSec4OT project responds to the growing cybersecurity challenges stemming from the convergence of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) in the era of Industry 4.0.
The rapid digitalization of industrial systems has significantly increased the vulnerability of OT environments to cyber threats, including attacks, data breaches, and operational disruptions. This shifting threat landscape calls for targeted cybersecurity measures specifically designed for OT systems.
At the same time, Europe is facing a pronounced shortage of skilled cybersecurity professionals, with an estimated need for over 200,000 experts to effectively safeguard OT infrastructure. This talent gap presents a major barrier to ensuring the resilience and security of critical industrial operations.
CyberSec4OT aims to bridge this gap by establishing a robust upskilling and reskilling programme focused on OT cybersecurity. The project seeks to equip professionals with the specialized knowledge and capabilities required to secure industrial environments, ultimately supporting Europe’s digital transformation and enhancing the ability of industries to anticipate, manage, and respond to emerging cyber risks.
