As the board of Cyber Security Austria, we are convinced of the idea of getting young people interested in cyber security at an early stage and supporting and challenging them in the same way as "highly gifted" young people. A comparable situation has existed in youth sport for decades. Thanks to unique models for promoting young talent, Austria is able to maintain its position as a small country at the forefront of international sport. A similar positioning must also be developed in the increasingly urgent cyber security environment. Our vision sees the national competition as a beacon for all people in our society to engage with the topic of cyber security at various levels. With the ACSC - the Austria CyberSecurity Challenge - we have been running a successful top competition for 12 years in order to initialize basic programs on the topic of excellence and to develop a stable breadth for a talented top level.
