Black Box Penetration Testing A Black Box Penetration Testing attempt to exploit a few key vulnerabilities identified in a system to determine whether unauthorized access or other malicious activity is possible and identify which flaws pose a threat to the system. No information is provided in this type of testing and therefore simulate most closely a real life hacking attempt. II. Grey Box Penetration Testing Grey Box Penetration Testing is the same as Black Box Penetration Testing apart from it takes less time than a Black Box Penetration Testing as some information is provided by client, such as the IPs of targets client want to test. III. Vulnerability Assessment In a Vulnerability Assessment (VA), CYPHER team identifies a list of vulnerabilities but do not differentiate between flaws that can be exploited to cause damage and those that cannot. IV. Social Engineering CYPHER team will attempt to exploit human weaknesses to gain access to sensitive information, compromise systems. It allows management to test the security awareness of employees and determine where to put more resources on in the security training area. [-----SECURITY & AWARENESS TRAINING-----] I. Pre-Training Assessment & On-site Training It aims to test employee security awareness and give them first hand experience of a social engineering attack that will reinforce what is taught on the training day.
