The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the world’s largest funding organization for the international academic exchange of students and researchers. In Kenya, DAAD is represented by a Regional Office in Nairobi as well as a lecturer each at the University of Nairobi and Kenyatta University. The Regional Office in Nairobi is responsible for Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Burundi. Apart from awarding scholarships and promoting the internationalisation of Higher education institutions, the DAAD is keen to promote co-operations among higher education institutions and science systems worldwide.
