[ENG] Located in the historic heart of the Medina,
DaDa is an exhibition space that will celebrate
the diverse and buzzing art scene of Morocco,
Africa, and the world. A creative space for
artists of all kinds, DaDa will also be free and
accessible to all members of the public. This
autumn, cultural events will begin to take place
at DaDa, as well as the opening of a rooftop
restaurant.
While DaDa will still be under construction,
works of three specifically commissioned artists
will be exhibited from 20-24 February 2019, in
the context of the 1-54 African Contemporary
Art Fair. As a reflection of DaDa’s location
in Jemaa el-Fna, the historical and creative
epicentre of Marrakech, works by artists
Mohamed El Baz, Mo Baala, and Emeka Ogboh
will provide a singular sensory experience and
question our relationship to history and our
place in the environment that surrounds us.
[ENG] DaDa est un espace d’exposition qui
célébrera, au coeur de la Médina,
l’effervescence de la scène artistique
actuelle du Maroc, de l’Afrique et du
monde. Laboratoire vivant pour les
artistes dans tous les domaines de
la création, en accès gratuit et ouvert
à tous les publics, DaDa offrira, dès
l’automne, des événements culturels et
accueillera un restaurant sur son toit.
Du 20 au 24 février 2019, DaDa,
encore en travaux, présente, dans
le cadre de la foire d’art contemporain
1-54 Marrakech, trois commandes
conçues spécialement pour le lieu.
En résonance avec la situation
géographique de DaDa, place Jemaa
el-Fna, épicentre historique de la
création à Marrakech, les oeuvres des
artistes Mohamed El Baz, Mo Baala et
Emeka Ogboh questionnent notre relation
à l’histoire et notre place dans notre
environnement. Elles nous invitent à une
expérience sensorielle singulière.
