Welcome to DadBodz. I guess the first and most important question to ask is, why? Why DadBodz? Why have we started this journey? Well, I was not a particularly athletic kid, and growing up in a small country town where sport (and being sporty) was the ticket to being part of the cool kids, I struggled. Then, later in my teens I found my first bodybuilding magazine, devoured all there was to know about diet and training and actually got into pretty good shape. Then, I really started to think I had it all sorted and confused being big and hunky with actually being big and chunky. At 115kgs at 5’11” and change, this just didn’t work. Then along came our first-born boy and doing the math I didn’t want to be a 50-year-old Dad who was either unable to play footy with him be a diabetic or in fact, not be around at all. So I started again, but this time, in a practical way, knowing that there’s work, time pressures, being on the road often, deadlines and still wanting to have a life and have a nice meal with my family, a few drinks with friends and just enjoy life. That was the genesis of DadBodz. An approach to not just a diet, but a lifestyle. Yes, to snap back into shape we may need a kick start of the engine, so this program will give the V8 a jolt, get you fired up and firing on all cylinders. But once we are humming, the machine will start to kick into gear and head down a new road. No, you don’t need a gym or hours of cardio – we will show you how to train at home (or the gym) and be realistic about getting in shape So, get on board, and remember, it’s progress we are seeking, not perfection.
