It is estimated that in the Republic of The Gambia, excluding unproductive governmental entities, provides more than 90% of the workforce of the country and women contribute significantly to the GDP of its economy. In a nutshell, Women and the workforce of Women is the heart that pumps the economic blood to the vital organs of the Gambian economy. To acknowledge and appreciate the important role the Women plays in promoting wealth and prosperity in the country and the continent, The Zaid Ibn Harith Islamic Center has decided to be one of the few Masjids that focus particularly on the betterment of Women as a whole.
