We make premium peat-free garden composts for organic growing. Sustainably produced from wool, comfrey and bracken on our Lake District farm. This unique mix of fully-traceable, fertilising ingredients provides slow-release nutrition for plants, so no need to feed, whilst also reducing the need to water. Our entire gardening range is Soil Association-approved. Our founders Professor Jane Barker and Simon Bland also run Barker & Bland, a leading peatland restoration contractor. Working for organisations such as Natural England, Nature Scot, The Wildlife Trusts and the RSPB, our team has over 30 years’ experience of helping to return peatlands to functioning living ecosystems.
