The business was founded in June 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic and quickly became a staple in its community. Da PandeChalap gets its name from its founder: 𝘋𝘢 from 𝘋𝘢𝘳𝘸𝘪𝘯, 𝘗𝘢𝘯 𝘋𝘦 from the Spanish word meaning 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥, and 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘱, a slang word in the Filipino language Tagalog, which means 𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 in English.
