a "Sustainable Innovation Lab" Das Baumhaus, the tree house, is a project and event space for sustainable development in Berlin with an interior inspired by Gaudi, Lord of The Rings, Avatar and all things generally organic in aesthetic. We connect, inspire and empower each other as neighbors, professionals, organizations and local change-makers working for transition towards sustainability. We facilitate the process of bringing together groups of trans-disciplinary people and projects together to meet and collaborate on creating a wide variety of sustainable solutions often in the form of designed objects, systems and events in the physical and virtual worlds. Some recent examples include: • concept & product development • sustainability workshops & coaching • interior installations • lighting design and production • systems design • event concept & production • furniture • art • music + We are growing a diverse community of over 600 trans-disciplinary freelance and small business professionals who built our project and event space, and supporting good ideas and projects. Engineer, designer & artist Scott Bolden runs the business along with social scientist and activist Karen Wohlert. They started the project with the goal of creating an inspiring environment and providing room for meetings and events of social and ecological projects. Baumhaus is a platform for the P.E.A.C.E.S. of being a good actor for change – bringing together perspectives that are: Personal - living more humane, meaningful, balanced and satisfying lives. Ecologic - living in balance with the ecosystem & protecting life on the planet. Aesthetic - understanding and better connecting with our senses towards the world, each other and ourselves. Cultural - Learning from our differences & focusing on what we have in common. Economic - living more zero waste & shifting monetary value to align with real values. Social - collaboratively supporting each other.
