DASH BC is a non-profit society committed to making a significant contribution toward positively influencing the health and learning capcoty of students in BC.
The key premise of a healthy school is that healthier students learn better and that educated students are healthier. Healthy Schools, also known as health-promoting schools, work with partners from the health and education sectors, and with those from the broader community, to help students to develop healthy habits that will last a lifetime.
DASH BC's network includes:
•school staff, administrators and parents;
•health promotion specialists such as nutritionists and public health nurses;
•policy makers such as school trustees, superintendents and health authority representatives; community partners, including health-related non-government organizations.
DASH works with these individuals and organizations to deliver and support school health initiatives that benefit both health and learning.
