Data for Good YYC

Data For Good YYC is a collective of volunteer do-gooders, who want to use their powers for good to help make our communities better through data. We help non-profit and social organizations harness the power of their data through analytics and visualizations in order to leverage their impact in the community. The team in Calgary is led by Geoff Zakaib and other volunteers who are committed to making an impact through data in Calgary. Data for Good in Calgary works with organizations in the non-profit / social sector in a couple of ways: DataThons are weekend events that involve a large number of volunteers focusing on analytics & visualizations with organizations that have a lot of data and are relatively advanced in their data practices. DataCorps is a program of smaller scale projects of variable length where a group of Data Ambassadors will work with organizations that need help with data fundamentals at any stage of the Data Lifecycle.
