DataWorks is a 501 c 3 serving neighbors, neighborhoods, nonprofits and local governments. Our mission is to democratize data to facilitate an empowered, productive, and equitable community. We provide community data tools–our two main data tools are the Durham Neighborhood Compass and the Durham Community Health Indicators Project. More importantly, we connect neighborhoods and community groups with data support, and convene and participate in community conversations. We focus on building relationships to ensure that the data and support we provide is relevant to community groups, endorses community organizations’ missions, and represents an antiracist perspective. Our board includes members of communities we serve.
