ABOUT: Datum- The Data Science Forum at Jain(deemed-to-be) University, School of Sciences. In the vast, everchanging world of Data Science where complex statistical concepts, and abstract code are becoming increasingly inaccessible to newbies, Datum stands as an outlier, delivering deep insights and valuable ideas to aspiring data scientists and students alike in an easy-to-understand, fun and comprehensive way. Our community of students, teachers and professionals come together to explore the world of Data, with a passion to share their learnings with the larger community of learners within and outside our campus. What we do: Workshops and lectures: From hybrid lectures to live, hands-on workshops, we believe that knowledge can be transferred through a variety of mediums. You can count on us to build the best pipeline for smooth transfer of Data Science knowledge! Hackathons: While coding can be an intimidating roadblock for a newcomer, it is an invaluable asset to a seasoned data scientist. We believe in gamifying the learning process through hackathons and other competitive coding events, making coding “cool” in our community (As it should be!). Interactive sessions with domain experts: The database of knowledge is infinite and we ensure that we tap into it. With the right prompts and queries from inquisitive members of our vibrant community, we derive only the sharpest insights from domain experts and stalwarts of the field. Intra and Inter collegiate fests: Whether it’s the inter-department fest, “Anveshana” or the Inter Collegiate Youth Fest, “Nexus”, Datum has always made its mark with innovative events and games. With a unique blend of Science, Culture and Technology, we create enigmatic, educational and enriching experiences for students from diverse educational backgrounds.
