We established Dauntless Management because we believe in the long-term opportunities in Emerging Markets. Our team has been working in Emerging Markets for decades, and we have the experience, knowledge and confidence to manage this diverse and complex asset class. The future growth of the global economy will likely be dependent on these developing economies, which make up nearly 40% of global GDP. Emerging Market economies rarely move as one, nor do their equity markets. It is imperative to assess the macro risks that are at play in each country and make investment decisions based on this analysis. There are tens of thousands of companies operating in Emerging Markets. We have found that investing in quality companies can generate superior returns over time. We believe one of the main reasons to invest in Emerging Markets is for their superior growth potential. We therefore focus on companies that have secular growth. We also believe that better returns can be achieved by a more concentrated approach rather than buying ‘the market’. Sustainability is core to what we do, across countries, industries and companies.
