Dave’s House works to end homelessness for men and women with serious mental illness. Founded in 2008, the non-profit has developed nine multi-resident homes in Central Florida, South Florida and Virginia, and additional Dave’s Housing First apartment homes in Central Florida. Dave’s House has provided permanent supportive housing for over 100 residents. Programs have contributed $8.3 million to communities through $5.5 million in community cost savings and $2.8 million in housing and neighborhood improvement. All Dave’s House homes are fully operated at the non-profit’s level of quality and are fully self-sufficient. With partners at the local, state and federal levels, the non-profit develops affordable permanent supportive housing based upon innovative and effective best practice models. These housing models combine a solid foundation of affordable and stable housing, accompanied by managed mental health care, provided by behavioral health service partners. Dave’s House also provides support programs for resident personal and professional life skills development.
